Mitragyna Speciosa (commonly known as Kratom) is a tropical evergreen tree which grows abundantly all over Southeast Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Papa New Guinea). Mitragynine (the active molecule in Kratom) is similar to many other psychedelics due to its high affinity for several 5HT (serotonin) receptors, however Kratom differs from most other psychedelics because it has the potential to be addictive.
